Minor Debt Recovery
There will be times when, either through pressure of business, or as a result of commercial disputes and litigation, that either you or your business entity is owed money.
Debts can be collected through the normal court system.
However, for smaller debts, the costs of litigation can outweigh the costs of recovering the debt.
In these circumstances, it may be more appropriate for you to recover the debt through the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
QCAT has jurisdiction to deal with claims under $25,000 (including costs and interest).
Lawyers do not generally appear in QCAT, but we can assist you in preparing and filing documentation.
